How do you clean Regupol Aktiv flooring ?

Can I cut and install the floor myself?

Can you install Regupol Aktiv over carpet?

Does Regupol Aktiv contain latex?

How soon can you move equipment onto a newly installed floor?

This decision is based on if the flooring is loose laid (Regupol Aktivlok), temporary installation ( Regupol Aktiv with double sided carpet tape), or permanently installed with adhesives. For Regupol Aktivlok and Regupol Aktiv with double sided carpet tape you can move in on the floor immediately after installation. When moving equipment in on these surfaces it is always recommended to protect the floor with temporary sheets of thin plywood or Masonite to disperse any heavy rolling loads to the surface.. These heavy rolling loads can cause the floor to “buckle” without the use of the plywood or Masonite.

If the flooring has been installed using the recommended adhesive system, Regupol PU350, you should wait 24 hours minimum before moving equipment onto the flooring or using the floor for activities in order to allow the adhesive system to cure. It is also recommended to use the same protective plywood or Masonite system when moving equipment to avoid the heavy rolling loads from shearing the adhesive bond.

How does sunlight react to the Regupol Aktiv flooring?

Regupol America uses the highest quality UV resistant EPDM (colored rubber) that is available to add color and texture to the Regupol Aktiv flooring line. This will provide a very UV stable floor product for many years of use. As with any building product or interior finish – nothing can be 100% protected from the damaging effects of sunlight and UV exposure. All building products and interior finishes will show some level of “fading” after many years of use and direct and indirect exposure.

How do you clean Regupol Aktiv flooring ?

Regupol Aktiv can be maintained using a damp mop and a pH neutral detergent. We recommend using a commercial grade microfiber mop head as they will remove more dirt and soil from the floor than traditional string mops. For large areas we recommend to use a walk behind scrubber that cleans, scrubs and vacuums the floor. For more detailed maintenance instructions please refer to the Aktiv maintenance sheet.

Can I cut and install the floor myself?

For best results we recommend that the Regupol Aktiv Product line of roll and tiles are professionally installed. Please contact us for a dealer in your area as most dealers will have installation capabilities.

Can you install Regupol Aktiv over carpet?

We do not recommend installation of the Regupol Aktiv rolls or Regupol AktivLok tiles over carpet. Please refer to the Aktiv and AktivLok installation guide for acceptable substrates for these products and the proper preparation of those substrates prior to installation of these products.

Does Regupol Aktiv contain latex?

Regupol America does not add latex to is products as an ingredient in its manufacturing process. However, the product is manufactured from recycled auto and truck tires. While most auto and truck tire companies do not use natural rubber latex in their manufacturing. If natural rubber is present, it is in a small percentage, with the majority of the material being synthetic butyl rubber that contains no natural rubber latex allergens.

Can Regupol Aktiv be installed outdoors?

Regupol Aktiv can be installed outdoors but there are special installation and handling guidelines that need to be followed to insure the proper installation. Please contact Regupol America’s technical department for additional information and special requirements for outdoor installtions.

Can you loose lay the flooring?

Regupol AktivLok and Regupol AktivPro are modular floor products that do not require adhesives for installation. Please refer to the installation manuals for these products for proper handling and installation of these products. For best results Regupol Aktiv rolls are to be fully adhered to the substrate using our Regupol PU350 Adhesive.

In some cases the rolled flooring can be installed using a high quality double sided carpet tape. Please refer to the installation instructions for this method and contact Regupol America technical department if there are questions on how to properly install the floor.

What type of adhesive is to be used?

Regupol America recommends to use its own brand of adhesive- Regupol PU350. This is a one-component polyurethane adhesive designed for use with our products and for our warranted system. Please follow all instruction for use

How do I paint lines on the flooring? What type of paint?

It is possible to paint lines on the Regupol Aktiv flooring after it is installed. We recommend  using a high quality 2-component polyurethane paint that will be durable, long lasting and achieve an excellent bond to the flooring surfaces. Please contact us for more information on how to properly paint lines on the surface.
