Anti-slip mats are made from SBR/NR granules or from butyl rubber.

Anti-slip mats are supplied in rolls, sheets, depending on their thickness and the intended application. Thicknesses between 3 and 8 mm are available. Contact our sales team.

  • REGUOL cargo mat 7210® = 250 t/m² = 2.50 N/mm² at 8 mm thickness
  • REGUPOL cargo mat 1000® = 630 t/m² = 6.30 N/mm² at 8 mm thickness
  • REGUPOL cargo mat 9510® = 350 t/m² = 3.50 N/mm² at 8 mm thickness

The great majority of our anti-slip mats are black. They do however have different coloured particles (see photos on the respective product pages). This colouring is the distinguishing feature of original REGUPOL anti-slip mats.

Anti-slip mats can be used multiple times until they are ready to be discarded. This should be done when the mats have reached discard status, i.e. are torn, split or crushed and after contact with oils, fuels, chemicals etc. Discard status acc. to VDI 2700, part 15.

You can clean your anti-slip mats by shaking, vacuuming, rinsing or, if necessary, washing with a high-pressure cleaner.

For extreme weather conditions, we have developed our REGUPOL cargo mat 1000®. This is a mat that can withstand cold, snow or rain, road salt, heat or UV light and is extremely robust and resilient.

We have developed our REGUPOL cargo mat 9510® especially to counter this risk. This mat leaves no black marks or streaks, so sensitive cargos, such as prefabricated concrete components, will not be stained.

Anti-slip mats can be disposed of easily in accordance with the EWC waste code 070299, taking the local or national disposal regulation into account.

Rail transport, air and sea freight 

The load and the surface beneath it must be swept clean, grease-free and dry.

In the event of the cargo slipping despite the use of anti-slip mats, the mats are subjected to enormous horizontal forces. In extreme cases, this can lead to them tearing and thus offering very little resistance to the horizontal movement of the cargo. For this reason, all REGUPOL anti-slip mats have a minimum elongation at break of 60 % and a tensile strength of 0.60 N/mm². REGUPOL anti-slip mats stretch to more than 60 % of their original length before they tear.

Today, load securing is indispensable. Difficulties frequently arise because evasive action and emergency braking cause loads to slip back and forth or to become completely uncontrollable. This can often lead to injury, damage to property and fines. But that’s not all. If people are injured or property damaged as a result of insufficient load securing, damage claims or even criminal prosecution can follow, as well as penalty points on the drivers’ licence. Financial damage caused by insufficient load securing is very considerable. But even worse, it not only constitutes a great danger to drivers themselves, but to other road users, too. 

Loads must always be secured, even for short trips. Here, too, evasive action or emergency braking may be required which could have serious consequences.

The available methods are force locking, positive fit and combination securing. If you are not sure which method you should use in your particular situation, our easy LaSi Software or our advisers will provide the support you need.

Any straps which are frayed or damaged must be replaced immediately. If the label is no longer legible or the strap has come into contact with acids or alkalis, it should also be replaced.

The coefficient of sliding friction describes the friction occurring between the loading bed and the load. The higher the coefficient is, the less the load needs to be additionally secured. For calculating load securing, we always recommend using a coefficient of sliding friction of 0.6 µ.

The coefficient of sliding friction for friction enhancing matting depends on the material pairing, the temperature and the condition the material surface and the antislip mat (dirt, moisture, etc.) 

VDI 2700, part 15 = currently, the normally the coefficient of sliding friction applied under these conditions is up to 0.6 µ. REGUPOL anti-slip mats far exceed these minimum requirements by up to 15-30 %, depending on the material pairing.
