Caring about the environment is part of the REGUPOL core mission. When it comes to how we conduct our business and develop our products, we think long term. We ask ourselves: How will our actions today impact tomorrow's world? We strive to protect and sustain our environment every step of the way, from development and production to customer use and disposal.

On the road, tires eventually wear down or sustain irreparable damage. But, in the environment, tires can last forever. They are nonbiodegradable, unable to be compacted like plastic or metal, and maintain their shape. Because of their sheer size and impenetrable rubber compound, tires are among the most problematic sources of waste we face today.

Each year we reclaim over 9 million tires from landfills to make environmentally sound solutions for the sports, acoustics, commercial, construction, and transportation markets. Our products are comprised of either shredded and cleaned SBR tire rubber (100% post-consumer waste) or a combination of SBR tire rubber  and vibrant EPDM (post-industrial waste) color granules. The recycled content ranges from 75% to 100% recycled materials. We are also a zero-waste manufacturer regrinding our scrap material for use in some our products.

GreenCircle Certified

We choose certifications that help us progress toward our goals and establish whether we are fulfilling our promise to manufacture sustainable products that prioritize the needs of future generations.

We want our customers to know REGUPOL as a responsible and trustworthy company that embraces sustainable business as good business. GreenCircle’s vigorous evaluation process provides independent verification of our products annually to ensure the legitimacy of our recycled content claims. They require the most transparency from manufacturers and work to neutralize the many unsubstantiated claims in the marketplace. We are proud to say we are the first Pennsylvania manufacturer to be GreenCircle certified.

REGUPOL America holds two GreenCircle certifications-sustainable manufacturing and recycled content.

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is an internationally recognized green building certification system,  providing third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at improving performance across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.

Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED is the most widely used green building rating system in the world. It works for all buildings at all phases of development, from new construction to existing buildings, and all building sectors, from homes to hospitals to corporate headquarters. LEED provides a point system to score green building design and construction. The system is categorized in nine basic areas: Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Energy and Atmosphere, Materials and Resources, Indoor Environmental Quality, Location and Transportation, Integrative Process, Innovation and Design, and Regional Priority. Buildings are awarded points based on the extent various sustainable strategies are achieved. The more points awarded the higher the level of certification achieved from Certified, Silver, Gold, to Platinum.

REGUPOL products can potentially help a building earn points in 3 out of 9 categories: Materials and Resources, Indoor Environmental Quality and Regional Priority.

What began as a project of passion and purpose by HKS in Dallas in 2014 to know more about the ingredients in the materials and products their designers were specifying has grown into  searchable platform known as the mindful MATERIALS Library. Designed by stakeholders from across the building industry, the mindful MATERIALS Library is a practical product selection tool backed by vetting efforts of the mindful MATERIALS Review Working Group.  Learn more at mindful Materials  and to create a free account.

Find up-to-date certifications and transparency documentation for REGUPOL products by using the mindful MATERIALS database. To find them in the library, search by General Material Category: Flooring and Manufacturer:  REGUPOL.
